rainy morning...

Nice slow morning here. Sleeping in, working out, eating breakfast and checking in. Everyone doing their own thing. I kind of like these types of mornings once in a while.

Just another Monday...

Can't quite decide if I like Mondays or not. I was totally not in the mood to workout this morning, but am very proud of the fact that I did...90 minutes of yoga, right after drop off. Followed by a big run of groceries, unloading of groceries, pick-up, gymnastics for A, pick-up again, shower night for both of them, dinner and bed time. My treat for the day? Finding this dessert made by Hannah......Banana, Kiwi, Raisins & Honey. DZ. I.Love.That. :)

This house is a zoo...

A and H pulled this oldie but goodie out of the basement today. They played with it for a couple of hours. My favorite part of all of it? Listening to A speak for the little people...in a high falsetto voice :)

Hard at Work

When I came home from getting my hair cut, this is what I found. Daddy was upstairs doing his work and these two were doing theirs'...online puzzles. Love the tongue...

Field Trip

I chaperoned another first grade field trip today. Since it was a "home day" for A, he was allowed to join us. After lunch we took the class to a local sledding hill (which we'd never been to before) They all had a blast. And luckily the frigid cold held off until after dismissal. A took a good blow to the nose when one of the first graders plowed into him on the hill. He took it easy after that, but I still think he had fun.

Aside from the fun afternoon, it was also "Crazy Hair" day as part of their week long "no put-down" week. This is what we came up with for H...

Home Day

It is a bright and sunny home day for A and I today. Daddy is off to Columbus and H has school today. This morning as we left for school the fog had yet to clear... every little branch had frost on it, which was even more beautiful with the fog.

After dropping H off, A and I headed home to play. Here he is waiting to give me a kiss... I love these days.

Jammie Day

This week is "no Put-Down" week at school. H was very excited today to be able to wear her jammies at school. She knew exactly which ones she wanted to wear. Hard to see here but she's got her snowman jammies on (with woolies on underneath!) It was fun to see all her classmates in their jammies. If only they could do this everyday!

There was something about today...

I guess I shouldn't be surprised but there was a different feel about today..the excitement of possibility, renewal of energy and hope that this day brought. This will be a day I will remember for sure...

1.19.2009

I know I shouldn't...

allow this but they love jumping on the couch. And with the amount of time we spend indoors during the winter, they just need some way to let out all of that energy. Notice how sweaty A is and how rosy his cheeks are from all that jumping?

Sleddin' on the Hill

First time taking the kids out this season. It was SO cold but they loved it. A's little cheeks were bright red and he couldn't stop licking his lips/skin. This orange one seems to get us the farthest...

First Knitting

H's first home knitting project. Knit on chopsticks (because she didn't have her own needles when she started this). She's decided to cast-off today and sew up the edges to make a pouch.

So proud...

Well, Hello Buttercup...

As I was squeezing my 20 minutes of treadmill time in before I left for my crop, the kiddos entertained themselves...with face pens. Meet Buttercup ...

and her (un-named friend)...

(and you better not call her anything else or you will get The Look)
Those are kitty ears and eyebrows on the foreheads, in case you were wondering.

Through her eyes

Today is "snow day" number 4 of this school year. Today it's due to the -20 degree weather we're enjoying. The kids spent most of the morning trying on old Halloween costumes. Then H asked if she could use my camera. Here are a couple of my favorites of her captures today...

1.14.2009

Troublemakers...the both of them

A was happy to have his very own playdate today. Who says boys don't play with dollhouses?

1.13.2009

Gymnastics friends

The girls today at gymnastics. We arrived early and I was able to capture them all in one shot. We're going to miss A & A when they move away...

Pizza Restaurant...No Moms allowed

So apparently Mom doesn't play Pizza Restaurant the proper way. That part of the sign was added (by H) after I had already dined there.

Packing Up Christmas

I hate the task but it feels so good when it's all put away....

Discovered: The Christmas folk and the stable animals planning their escape.

Looking Ahead

With the temps predicted to be about 15 below zero in the upcoming week, every little reminder of Spring keeps me going...

1.09.2009

20 minutes

Why is it that 20 minutes seems so dang long...when spent on a treadmill?

3 Kings Crown

He came home with this crown from school yesterday. Didn't want to color it. Mrs. C said he'd rather play instead. Today he decided to wear it most of the afternoon and wanted to learn how to draw stars.

Bedtime Stories

Lately, he has been wanting to keep his closet light on and look at books in bed. Anything that will keep him in his room at bedtime is fine with me. Last night, this is what I found when I went to check the kids before I went to bed. Why is it that they can be such stinkers and then look so sweet when they're asleep?

1.06.2009

Sing Along

I Love hearing my children sing. Tonight it was Away in a Manger and The Friendly Beasts as I cooked dinner...two of our favorite Christmas Songs around here.

1.05.2009

Snow Angel

I love the way the light touches our angel on this bright winter day...

Never Ending

I absolutely Hate laundry...it just never ends. And my biggest pet-peeve is laundry that sits unfolded in a basket.

Apres Sledding

All tuckered out after testing the new sleds they bought with Daddy today.

Our newest addiction

Game H received from Grandma & Grandpa. I think the adults enjoy it more than she does at this point.
